The session on publishing and distribution in ePaper, or "smart edition" formats, organized by the Russian Inter Pochta distribution agency, was filled to capacity. For Russian publishers with their own country’s huge distances and millions of Russian speakers living abroad, ePaper is an way to instantly reach audiences without charging exorbitant prices for distribution. Nikolay Malyarov, far right, director for digital media of Canada-based NewspaperDirect, outlined business models in this area.

In general, sessions and stand presentations on everything related to 3M strategies were in particular demand. International and local suppliers who often work in partnerships, including Atex and Terem, WoodWing and NBZ, Adobe, Ortec, Axiosoft, and others demonstrated their solutions for the Russian market.

“Everyone these days is preoccupied with integrating print and online. There's a good chance Publishing Expo will result in several contracts with major Russian publishers”, said Vadim Duda, CEO of Terem, the Atex distributor in Russia.
