Sture Udd of UpCode Ltd. is proud of his company’s first success in Russia. Poleznye Stranitsy ("useful pages"), a Moscow city guide, was the first to carry UpCode, an electronic tag that can be "read" by mobile phones, on the road map inside the volume. It provides information on-line on shops, cafes, gas stations, etc., along the route and promises to be in high demand for both readers and advertisers.
Udd presented his company’s product at the seminar organized by PrintCity, an international alliance covering the entire printing, packaging and publishing value chain. Among other speakers at the seminar were representatives of UPM, manroland, and Océ.
Concluded Rainer Kuhn, PrintCity’s Managing Director: Russian publishers and printers understand that they have to change, and we provide them with instruments. They will go back to their companies with a vision of a bright future for the traditional paper versions.
