The newsroom and offices of the Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper in Frankfurt, occupy what used to be the tram depot for the city. The building is listed as a historical monument and its façade has been beautifully restored. Some of the old tracks can still be seen outside the building while inside a very modern space was created.
The newsroom occupies a vast room with high ceilings and a good deal of natural light. The central table on the picture allows the several editors responsible for each section (who sit on each of the desks surrounding the table) to have meetings whenever necessary. From each of those desk 'irradiates' a longer one where the respective journalists work. Light colours dominate the space and four gigantic screens occupy one of the walls and is used to show web pages from around the world to keep journalists up to date on what has been recently published online.
