Jury members busy at work on the fourth day of checking the samples participating on the INCQC 2010-2012. On the third day 48 titles were checked. Early on the fourth day all titles have been checked at least once and now starts the double checking of each sample.
Jury members look for up to 25 possible fault in the printed paper and rate them accordingly. The criteria is divided into Color (deduction, etc), Print process quality (show-through, missed areas, etc), Color register, Mechanical print quality (smearing, ghosting, dirt stains, mottling, etc) and Image and graphic quality (color cast, fuzziness, etc). Most common errors seem to be so far plate edges, dirt stain, and see-through.
Jury members noted as well that generally color register was pretty good on most samples but the issue seems to be the toner reproduction of images.
