Strategies in Newsrooms Focus Session
The Strategies in Newsrooms Focus Session took place on the second day of IFRA Expo 2009 in Vienna.
This session, chaired by Dietmar Schantin, WAN-IFRA Executive Director of Publishing, Editorial and General Management, included a presentation about the launch of the Newsplex goLocal initiative, which aims to help local and regional newspaper publishers reach their full potential in the areas of local journalism and local business by Joachim Blum, Media Consultant, Germany. Other speakers included:
> Tatiana Repkova of WAN-IFRA, France, who discussed world trends in the newspaper industry.
> Meg Pickard, Head of Social Media Development, Guardian News and Media, United Kingdom, who talked about content, communities and collaboration: making media social.
> Pascal Zemp, Project Manager New Media, Ringier AG, Switzerland, who discussed the integrated newsroom of the Blick Gruppe of Ringier Switzerland.
