Pakistan Newspapers Join WAN-IFRA

The All Pakistan Newspaper Society, which represents 304 newspapers and six advertising agencies, has joined the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA), which groups 79 publisher associations, 18,000 newspapers, 15,000 online sites and over 3,000 companies world-wide.

APNS was formally admitted by the Board of WAN-IFRA, which met during the World Newspaper Congress and World Editors Forum in Hyderabad, India.

World's Press Calls on Philippines to Act on Massacre

The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) has condemned the massacre of more than 30 journalists and their staff in the Philippines and called on the government to act decisively to bring the perpetrators to justice, and to end the climate of impunity that makes the Philippines one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a journalist.
