IFRA recently visited Fotoware and the company shared some of its latest developments; primarily, the planned launch and demonstration of version 7.0 of its software at IFRA Expo in Vienna.
Fotoware says the new version (7.0) of its software will feature a whole new range of functionalities intended to make digital asset management easier. The system is aimed at high-end users in publishing houses of all sorts.
One of the highlights will be the integration of various video formats, including Flash Video. Fotoware Connect 7.0 will facilitate the internal and external upload and download of multimedia files. The growing demand to manage large quantities of rich media files is reflected in new the feature called “Collage” which enables the grouping and sharing of images, videos, PDF files, Illustrator files and others in a straightforward fashion.
Fotoware 7.0 is based on an open architecture, integrating IPTC standards and XMP format for metadata.
Fotoware has installations not only in newspaper publishing houses, but also at large corporate publishers, magazines, power plants; even Scotland Yard and the Australian Police are using the Fotoware system to manage their image and video files. Fotoware emphasises its new Certified Partner Concept, which is intended to certify implementation partners and, thus, deliver the best possible service to the end customer.
